The house was well-furnished and had excellent views of the countryside from the upstairs lounge and kitchen. There were some essentials provided on arrival, and the hosts were nearby in case of any issues. the bed was comfortable and the house had everything needed for a stay. the Cross Keys pub, located nearby, offered good pub food. the owners were helpful and even provided maps for local walks.
Slight confusion over payment in advance, but this was resolved without a problem.

The house was spotless, comfortable, and quiet, making it the perfect retreat for our large family. The views from the windows were simply breathtaking - one side overlooked the open countryside, while the other showcased the charming village of Durham. The spacious living and kitchen area provided ample space for us to relax and spend quality time together. The hosts were friendly and discreet, ensuring we had everything we needed for a memorable stay. With easy access to Durham and the stunning highlights of Northumberland, we couldn't have asked for a better location!
For dads, it would be great to have a children's play area on the premises.

The property had stunning countryside and valley views. Made me feel like I was in a fancy romance novel. Loved it!
Only downside was that I didn't have a personal butler to cater to my every whim. Lovely home though!

We absolutely loved our stay at Holiday Home Elerkin in Durham! The views were breathtaking and the location was peaceful and serene. The sunsets were truly magical. The house itself felt cozy and homely, with all the amenities we needed. The bed was spacious and comfortable, which was a pleasant surprise for my tall husband. We also enjoyed visiting the local pub, the Cross Keys, which had delicious food and friendly staff. And to top it all off, we were welcomed with delicious cookies upon arrival. we had a fantastic time and would definitely recommend this holiday home.
Although our stay was wonderful, there were a few minor inconveniences. The grill tray in the oven could have been cleaner, but it was understandable that it could have been overlooked.

We had a wonderful Easter getaway at this holiday home. The location was perfect for us, with easy access to the coast and stunning views of the hills from the lounge area. The house had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, including a fully equipped kitchen and comfortable beds. We especially appreciated the groceries that were provided, saving us a trip to the shops. The house felt nice and homely, with a lovely French door in the living area that complemented the beautiful view. It was a chilled and relaxing place to stay, and we loved the subtle fairy lights that added a cozy atmosphere.
While our overall experience was great, there were a couple of minor downsides. we found that a car is definitely needed in this location, as the village lacked local amenities and we had to drive to get provisions.

the view and location of the property were absolutely lovely. We enjoyed the peaceful and quiet surroundings, and the magical sunsets added to the charm. The house itself had a lot of potential and could have been a great place to stay, if only the cleaning and maintenance issues were addressed.
The cleanliness of the property was a major disappointment during our Christmas stay. The house was not thoroughly vacuumed, with pieces of bread and crumbs still present under the table.
